Built Through Adversity. Driven By Purpose.

Nurse. Athlete. Practitioner. Founder.

Born and raised in Monaghan Town, Ireland, my journey into health, healing, and human performance has been shaped by sport, personal adversity, discipline, and a lifelong passion for helping others.

Leaving school at just 15 years of age, I entered the family print business, where I spent 22 years learning the values of hard work, resilience, responsibility, and perseverance.

Alongside this, sport became a huge part of my life—competing in football, rugby, golf, and martial arts from a young age. For over 29 plus years, martial arts has been one of my greatest teachers, eventually leading me to discover Traditional Chinese Medicine through pressure point systems during a seminar in London—an experience that would completely change the direction of my life.

In 2009, I began formal training in Traditional Chinese Medicine, completing six years of study through the College of Naturopathic Medicine and later through the College of Chinese Acupuncture and Holistic Medicine Association, where I remain professionally affiliated today.

Driven by personal loss—including losing my mother to Multiple Sclerosis at a young age—financial challenges, and life adversity, I made the decision to return to education later in life.

At 40 years old, I moved to London to study adult nursing, later graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Today, I work as a frontline nurse within a neurological surgery department in Glasgow and Aberdeen, while continuing my work in Traditional Chinese Medicine and building Shift to Shore.

In 2022, I was deeply honoured in China with the Silk Road Friendship Ambassador Award, recognising my contribution to Chinese medicine and service during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Shift to Shore is the next chapter—a movement built through adversity, driven by purpose, and dedicated to inspiring others to never give up.
